Simple ways to style up a slogan tee -

These days there is so much pressure to keep buying new that we often forget about our existing clothes before were hitting ‘add to cart’ and eagerly anticipating the knock on the door from the delivery guy! So, in a bid to try to get more wear from our wardrobes, I thought I’d share some fun simple ways to style up a slogan tee with clothing and accessories most of us already own.

New Tees – Old Accessories!!!

Generally, T-shirts aren’t a high-value item but can give other older items a new lease of life without spending a fortune. Picking simple colours like, neutrals, blacks and whites, allows them to be teamed with more of your existing wardrobe. How many ways can I wear it?

I’ve always loved shopping but as you all know, this past year I’ve certainly started being a lot more considerate when I make my purchases. I’ve stopped buying as much and I’m thinking ahead to ‘how many ways I can wear an item!’ before I make the purchase! Can I dress it up/down? What clothes do I already have in my wardrobe that I can wear it with? A slogan tee is an item that can be worn in so many different ways so is a fab place to start!

Shopping isn’t bad! Sometimes a few key purchases allow you to wear more of your existing wardrobe making some of your older items feel ‘new’ again!! We just need to make better choices when it comes to what we buy. Making a purchase that you will wear over and over again like a slogan tshirt, which can be styled in so many different ways is a much better purchase than say, an impulse buy… A ‘going out’ top that you save for a ‘special night out’ (which is quickly forgotten about no sooner as it is hung in the wardrobe!)

I’ve put together some of my favourite looks that can be recreated wearing a simple slogan tee along with other items that you already have in your wardrobe. Have a rummage through your wardrobe and see if you have any of the following to wear with your T-shirt:

a denim skirt,
a midi skirt,
mom style jeans,
denim shorts,
a blazer
an oversized shirt
Tailored wide-leg trousers

Then… play around with footwear. I love a chunky boot or trainer with a skirt to dress the outfit down, making it more ‘current’ and edgy!

Tips

If you are going to buy a slogan T-shirt, size up so that it’s its a little ‘oversized’ as not only is ‘oversized’ currently ‘on-trend’, it will allow you to create more of the looks.
If you have skin issues like me, opt for 100% cotton t-shirts. Your skin will thank you for it!
Consider what you need to add to your wardrobe to allow you to wear more of what you already have. Writing a list is a fab way to do this so when you are hitting the shops, whether that’s online or on the high street, you’ll know what you need.
