You know me and how I like to stick to the same skincare routine however this blog is giving me the opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and try some amazing new products that I wouldn’t otherwise get to try. Read on to see how I came across the Nathalie Bond organic range and what I think of them…
Happydashery…
A few weeks ago I was in my local town and popped into the new shop Happydashery. (If you are ever in Leighton Buzzard it’s definitely worth a visit!!)It’s a cute shop full of independent brands.
Whilst in there I spotted a fantastic range of skincare products all beautifully packaged (I’m a sucker for nice packaging which I also found out is made from recycled materials) and was so delighted to see that it was all organic … something you don’t see much of these days especially in skincare. After taking a few snaps of the range to show you guys (and having tagged them in my stories on Instagram) I received a lovely email from Nathalie’s husband Andy, which lead to me receiving the most beautiful happy post…
Nathalie Bond Organics
Nathalie Bond is a small family run business who lovingly create multiuse skincare in small handcrafted batches. They use sustainably sourced organic and natural ingredients which in my view is a winning combination especially for someone like me, who has ridiculously sensitive skin. They use simple raw ingredients in their products which are free of parabens, synthetic colours, fragrances (yes!!) and GM ingredients!
What’s more, they are also cruelty-free!
We are committed to using sustainable ingredients and championing change for a greener and cleaner planet!
What’s in the Gift box?
They kindly gifted me a box of goodies (none of which contained any synthetic fragrances) which as you can imagine, I was so so excited to receive! The box contained:
- Gentle – Skin Balm
- Gentle – Face oil
- Bloom – Lip Balm
- Essential oils (‘Sunshine’ and ‘Unwind’)
The first thing I used was the Oils!!
Nathalie Bond Organic Essential oil blends
- ‘Sunshine’ | Grapefruit, Bergamot & Ylang Ylang
- ‘Unwind’ | Lavender, Bergamot and Cedarwood
As someone who can’t use fragrances or perfumed products around the home, I’ve recently taken to using essential oils in burners or in my humidifier. It’s a great way to allow your home to smell nice naturally. The ‘Sunshine’ blend is the perfect scent to use during the day as a nice bright, fresh smelling room fragrance. The ‘Unwind’ on the other hand is a relaxing and I’d say ‘spa-like’ scent. One to keep for the all-important ‘me-time!’. I don’t often get a chance to relax but putting this in the burner whilst I had a soak in the bath was heavenly!
I highly recommend these oils!!
Gentle – Face oil |Organic Argon, Baobab, Camellia and Calendula Oil (10 ml / 30ml)
+ 100% Natural |+ 99% Organic of Total.
As I suffer from extremely dry skin, I’ve been itching to get my hands on a good facial oil (see what I did there?!?) however I’m always so sceptical as I’m worried they will irritate my skin. When I received this organic facial oil I was keen to try it straight away so decided I’d try it out on one side of my face to allow me to see if it made a difference. I felt that it was fairer to do one side as if my skin got better (or worse) I could identify easily if it was as a result of my skin healing naturally or as a result of the product.
I used it first thing in the morning on bare skin and allowed it to soak in for a while before I applied makeup (To see how I apply makeup to my eczema prone sensitive skin watch my video tutorial here…) I then used it after I removed my make up before bed.
It went on really nicely and didn’t cause any reactions what so ever, it didn’t sting or make my skin tingle at all. The only thing I would say is that it caused a few spots however I think it may be due to not removing all the remnants of my make up properly. Going forward I’m also only going to apply it once per day as I think that will be sufficient.
Gentle – Skin Balm
+ 100% Natural | + 99% Organic of Total.
This skin balm is a multi-use balm, the ‘all-rounder’ of their range. It can be used on the face and body, is safe for use for both children and adults and I’d say its perfect for use on dry patches, chapped skin and areas that need the extra protection and hydration. It’s perfect for using on your growing baby bump and also safe for use as a nipple balm according to their site!
I’ve been using it on a patch of eczema on my wrist for a few days to see how it helps. It’s made a slight improvement even in a short time!
Bloom – Lip Balm
I’m yet to use this Lip balm as, to be honest, I’ve been using the Skin Balm for my lips. I will let you know how I get on with this when I use it… for now, we just have to take a minute to appreciate the cute little tin it comes in …. no plastic!! This leads me nicely onto…
Pretty Ethical Packaging
Their packaging has also been thoroughly thought about which is so important in this day and age! Their packaging, whilst super pretty, is actually well thought out and ethical.
We’ve made sure most of our products are plastic free and where possible, we have reduced it to a minimum. We’ve turned our backs on plastic bottles and lids and chosen to use recyclable glass bottles and jars and aluminium lids. The advantage glass and aluminium has over plastic is that plastic can be only recycled a limited amount of times, whereas aluminium and glass can be recycled an infinite amount of times.
What I think to Nathalie Bond Organics
I’m genuinely so pleased I came across this brand! As someone who suffers with their skin and allergies, It’s so nice to be able to have a brand you can go to for nice, pampering products that you can actually use knowing they won’t irritate, instead improve your skin, body and mind… (did I mention the ‘Unwind’ oil is amazing and so relaxing??)
