The highstreet is gearing up for Spring/Summer and this week I was lucky enough to attend the Spring Summer Fashion Preview event with Intu Milton Keynes to have a sneak-peek at some of the retailer’s new collections. Needless to say, I was very excited!!
Spring Summer Fashion Preview with Intu Milton Keynes
Goodbye Teddy coat, Hello Shacket!
I’m not sure about you but I am more than ready to put my teddy coats in storage for another year and fully embrace Spring. The Spring/Summer Fashion Preview with Intu Milton Keynes allowed some of us local bloggers to get a glimpse into the season’s trends and trust me when I say, you won’t be disappointed!!
Newlook – Prints, polka dots and vegan footwear
I’m a huge fan of Newlook and regularly shop there. Their ability to imitate higher priced designer items well means the everyday consumer can look fab for less!! Take their new vegan sliders for example which we saw at the Spring Summer Fashion Preview at Intu Milton Keynes. It’s clear their design was inspired by Hermes Oran ‘H’ sandals which are priced around £500 however at £9.99, are a snippet of the cost. We saw them in a plethora of colours and am sure these will be popular this coming season.

Beautiful prints filled their rails. Think pretty florals, cute polka dots and leopard print (which is now a firm favourite in most peoples wardrobes these days!). And it’s not just tops and blouses that we saw in the gorgeous prints, they had trousers and shorts in the cute prints too! (Like these wide-leg trousers in black and white polka dots – see photo). Rest assured prints are set to stick around!

Pretty pinks and naughty nudes at Victorias Secrets
We all know Victoria’s Secrets has the sexy undies down to a tee…but did you know they also do casual everyday underwear and pjs as well? Well yes, they do & let me tell you they are gorgeous and super comfy made using the most luxurious fabrics!
Bra fittings without the embarrassment
As part of the Spring Summer Fashion Preview event, as well as checking out their gorgeous new underwear sets, we were invited to get a complimentary bra fitting! The staff in the Milton Keynes branch were so great at making us feel at ease as often people can get a little embarrassed getting a bra fitting – I know I used to!! You get shown into their beautiful elegant and girly changing rooms, which were, you guessed it… pink and then measured (with or without your bra on – your choice). Once they have your correct size, they head out to the shop floor to handpick a selection of bras for you to try on.
If you need any help or assistance you simply press the buzzer button fitted inside the changing room allowing them to head back to you to help!
If you are up at IntuMk, I’d highly recommend popping in to have a fitting! It’s such a fab service!
I chose the ‘pale pink LUXE LINGERIE – Mesh Plunge Bra’ and ‘Striped Mesh Cheeky Panty‘
bareMinerals at Debenhams – PURENESS range.
Also at the event was bareMinerals. If you’ve followed me for a while you will know that I’m already a huge fan of this brand. With my ridiculously sensitive skin, I’ve been able to use a number of bareMinerals makeup products without any problems at all (To keep up with my skin updates, check out my most recent blog here – Red Skin Syndrome – A year without steroid creams!) They have a new range out called the ‘Pureness range’ which is made using only 15 ingredients, far less than many others on the market. It’s also free of Parabens, Phthalates, PEGs and Synthetic Fragrance which is win win for me! I was kindly given samples of their Pureness Soothing Light Moisturiser & the Pureness Poreless Oil free Moisturiser to try – I’ll let you know how I get on!
Pure and gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin, this vegan face moisturiser is formulated with less ingredients and delivers more proven results. With just 15 clean ingredients — that’s 60% fewer ingredients than top-selling moisturisers* — it provides instant and all-day hydration while visibly reducing redness and sensitivity. In fact, after 2 weeks, 90% said skin feels calmer.
One for the vegans… I also saw their first clean, mineral-infused vegan lipstick which is again made using minimal ingredients – The Mineralist Hydra smoothing Lipstick. I’m a gloss girl normally but this lipstick looked really good!
Iconic Denim
Gap UK had a great selection of their Iconic Denim Jackets. If Gap do one thing well, it’s definitely their denim. The oversized shirt style jackets are looking to be hugely popular in the coming season so look out for those in all the shops. (Newlook also had some slightly longer length ones too!) Also did you know Gap offer embroidered personalisation instore?? I found out recently and got my Gap pj’s monogrammed. It’s a fab service and great for adding a personal touch to a gift.
I’m hoping you have enjoyed the little insight into the Spring/Summer collections with IntuMk.
Shop Smart
Remember when you go out shopping, try to consider your purchases. Make sure that you will get multiple wears from the items you buy? Ensure that the items you purchase go with and complement other items in your wardrobe? And if there’s the option to go for items made from recycled materials, snap them up instead!
