Anyone who knows me knows I love shoes! I’d say I’m verging on obsessed. I dread to think how many pairs I actually own!! If like me you love a winter boot, and equally a full-on sandal, this in-between phase can be a little ‘annoying’ – one-minute glorious sunshine, the next drizzle!
Here I’ve put together a few of my current top picks for this transitional stage from winter boots into spring sandals… Think brogues, slingbacks, mules and loafers!
(P.s this is my first ‘fashiony’ type blog post!! A fair few of my Instagram followers voted in favour of some fashion posts so here goes!!
First up – Next
Next have some great brogues and pointy slingbacks. They are perfect for the smart casual look, in my opinion, teamed with jeans, cigarette pants or long slip skirts. A good all-rounder. Bearing more skin but keeping those toes away… just for a little longer!
Animal print is still here and here to stay it would seem as the highstreet is still packed with the various prints! Clash them together or go tonal!!Either way go animal print!
Neon is also making a come back this spring and fluorescent yellow seems to be the one to go for! These from Next are just the right shade of fluoro yellow!! Not too bright and out there!
River Island
River Island has got some truly gorgeous mules in at the moment. These are another great all-rounder! When worn with jeans they create a stylish smart-casual look but teamed with some mid-length trousers (with just enough ankle showing), these would look so stylish – a great shoe for the office too!
These leopard print ones are my favourite… I mean who isn’t still obsessed with leopard print?!?
Zara
Zara has some really lovely Summer sandals in already!! I had to show some real restraint and control my spending urges this week!! It’s not quite ‘toes out’ weather yet (honestly I could’ve easily bought 5 pairs at least!!)
Their mules and loafers are equally gorgeous! I’ll be honest Zara is my ‘go-to’ shop! Their jeans always fit nicely and I find the quality to price pretty good!
These are my favourite few! To be honest it was pretty hard to whitte it down to just a handful as there are so many good styles to choose from. (I do find that in some of Zaras shoes I’m between sizes being a narrow UK size 6 – the 6’s without adjustable straps can come up quite wide!).
Snakeskin still seems to be everywhere currently so I reckon these would last right through summer! (I still can’t seem to part with my snakeskin boots – I’ll keep them out for a few more weeks yet!!).
Mustard yellow is also all over the highstreet so these would be a great buy if you wanted to follow the colour trend! It’s a nice alternative to a neutral in my view – I may invest in these tbh!!!! (Oh no wait I wanted to buy the leopard print ones!!)
White is always a good option and this plaited woven pair by Zara are pretty cute! Again pair with some relaxed ‘Mom’ jeans or a floaty midi dress, either way, they would be a great buy and would go with most things!
The last pair that I thought I’d share are the neutral leather bowed mules! They look so comfy and would look great paired with a leopard print slip skirt or a boiler suit that almost all the highstreet brands have bought out this season! More dressy than trainers but not as dressy as a heel!
I hope you have enjoyed my first fashion inspired blog post!
